Manufacturing industry is having hard time due to Covid 19

admin 2022-03-04

"If at least one person comes out..."

COVID-19 is a thorn in the manufacturing industry’s side

"Due to the nature of the manufacturing industry, it's hard to work from home and the factory is closed"

Manufacturing companies respond by installing disinfection machines and eating alternately

The Daegu manufacturing industry is working hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at the production site.

Due to the nature of the manufacturing industry, working from home is not easy and the factory is hit hard when closed,

so companies are coming up with various measures such as installing disinfection machines and changing their working methods.

At STI Co., Ltd., which makes fiber optical preform equipment in Dalseong-gun, Daegu,

there is a rare scene in which about 100 employees line up in front of a machine during rush hour.

STI converted the product, which had been developed as an African swine fever prevention equipment,

into an interpersonal sterilizer and installed it at the entrance of the company since the 24th of last month.

When a person opens the door to the container-type personal sterilizer and enters, there is a notice, "Start disinfection,"

and the internal temperature soared to 75-80 degrees Celsius. The disinfection time per employee is about 30 seconds.

An STI official said, "As COVID-19 is known to be very vulnerable to high-temperature drying, it is disinfected by high-temperature drying methods.

"The disinfection does not take a long time and is effective, so employees have a high preference,".

The manufacturing industry, which has a production site, is hit hard by the closure of the entire factory if even one person is confirmed.

From the company's point of view, it is more comfortable to let employees work from home, but it is impossible due to the nature of the production job.
