STI Co., Ltd(CEO Taeil SEO), located in Dasa-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu, is a small giant company that takes a leap to the global company as it nationalized technology of optical fiber preform manufacture which is a core material of 5th Generation(5G) communication network.

STI that was initially established in 1989 has suffered danger of going bankrupt as it lost client when major company sold its optical fiber communication business to USA in 2015.

However, since 2014 it started to develop optical fiber preform manufacturing equipment and gained a foothold of recovery as it presented high quality manufacturing facilities just in 2 years. 

The sales fell to $3.2 million but it raised to $47.7 million through nationalization of facilities. 

Daegu selected 8 Star Companies, which expanded employment and exports through innovation and lead growth of local economy, and awarded certificates.
